My kids and I were searching the internet for something the other day and happened upon a really random picture of a platypus. I said, “You know, just when you think you understand something of the way the Lord works, He makes a platypus!” My kids busted up laughing. Have you ever seen one of those creatures? They are the weirdest thing! The feet of an otter, the tail of a beaver, the bill of a duck and the body of a … I don’t know, a groundhog, maybe? They are so ugly!
It is true, though. We really none understand God, or the way He works. We recognize parts of the plan that He’s revealed to us and we assume that is what He is doing, and sometimes we’re right. But sometimes, we’re wrong. Our life is a lot like that platypus. It’s put together in ways we would have never imagined, and would never have accomplished on our own. Each of us have a unique path, a unique design that equips us to do the Lord’s will for our lives. It’s okay, though. The platypus get on with life, and so should we. Trust the Lord that He is for you and not against you, that He has great plans and trust His design. He knows what He is doing!
